SAGE (Students As Garden Educators) Service Program
What will you accomplish this summer?
As a SAGE Service Program Volunteer at the Missouri Botanical Garden, you might…
- Inspire investigations
- Open minds and
- Assist with discovery
The SAGE (Students As Garden Educators) Service Program offers students an opportunity to teach visitors about botany, ecology and the Missouri Botanical Garden. While working with the MBG Education staff on various programs, students will improve their public speaking and teaching skills, meet students from other schools, enhance future college and job applications and earn 50 hours of community service.
Who can participate? St. Louis area students, ages 14–18, who are interested in teaching others. Volunteers should be out-going, willing to learn new material and share it with others, and interested in working outside during summer months.
When? Program participants will volunteer from April through October, 2008. Scheduling is somewhat flexible and the MBG staff will work with you to accommodate jobs, summer school, vacation plans, and other commitments.
