The Missouri Botanical Garden's Mapping the Environment program is based at the Litzsinger Road Ecology Center, an environmental education center in suburban St. Louis.

Three major strands define our work:

Developing curriculum resources, including investigation modules and data sets
Leading professional development workshops for teachers and youth leaders
Supporting youth projects that promote community engagement

For each, geographic information system (GIS) software and global positioning system (GPS) receivers are used to investigate important issues through real data.
