The Academy of Science of St. Louis
Founded in 1856, this is the oldest science academy west of the Mississippi River. Today it is the home of scientific literacy and educational initiatives including the Junior Academy of Science and the Greater St. Louis Science Fair.
American Bamboo Society
The ABS was formed in 1979 and today we have over 1100 members living throughout the US and in 39 other countries. The ABS issues the bimonthly Bamboo and the annual journal "Bamboo Science and Culture" to disseminate information about the use, care, propagation and beauty of bamboo.
American Fern Society
AFS was established in 1893 with the objective of fostering interest in ferns and fern allies. To this end it encourages correspondence and the exchange of information and specimens between members via its newsletter, the Fiddlehead Forum.
American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS)
Publishers of BioScience, AIBS has been a national center for biologists and the biological sciences since 1947.
American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA)

American Society of Naturalists
Since its inception in 1867, The American Naturalist has maintained its position as one of the world's most renowned, peer-reviewed publications in ecology, evolution, and population and integrative biology research. While addressing topics in community and ecosystem dynamics, evolution of sex and mating systems, organismal adaptation, and genetic aspects of evolution, AmNat emphasizes sophisticated methodologies and innovative theoretical syntheses--all in an effort to advance the knowledge of organic evolution and other broad biological principles.
American Society of Plant Taxonomists
