Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom

AT A GLANCE

June 3 - June 9, 2005

• Roses are in full bloom in the Lehmann and Gladney Rose Gardens and throughout the grounds.

• Japanese water iris (Iris ensata) in Seiwa-En are at peak, full bloom.

• Oakleaf hydrangeas (Hydrangea quercifolia) and Smoke trees (Cotinus coggygria, C. obovatus) are in full bloom in many locations.

• Kousa dogwoods (Cornus kousa) are past peak bloom, but many are still showy throughout the grounds.

• The fragrant blossoms of Farges catalpa (Catalpa fargesii) and Bigleaf linden (Tilia platyphyllos) perfume the air in the Knolls.

• A few early daylilies are beginning to bloom in the Jenkins Daylily Garden. Peak bloom in this garden typically occurs two weeks before and two weeks after the Fourth of July.
