Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom

Snowdrops (Galanthus spp.) and Crocus are flowering in many locations
on the grounds. A few early daffodils are blooming in the bulb borders and
the English Woodland Garden.

Large drifts of blue Glory-of-the-Snow (Chionodoxa spp.) and white
Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) brighten the understory in the Mausoleum
Garden.

Forsythia on the Knolls are beginning to bloom. The ‘Gold Tide’ forsythia in
the Kemper Flower Borders, a Plant of Merit, is very showy.

Provided there is no frost in the days ahead many early magnolias will be in
bloom by weeks end.

Vernal (Hamamelis vernalis), Chinese (H. mollis) and Hybrid
witchhazels (Hamamelis x intermedia) are in full bloom in the Jenkins
Daylily, English Woodland and Japanese Gardens. Hamamelis x intermedia
‘Arnold Promise’ in the English Woodland Garden is especially showy.

Flowering apricots (Prunus mume) and Winter jasmine (Jasminum
nudiflorum) in the Chinese Garden are in full bloom.

Camellias are in full bloom in the Linnean House. The fancy leaves of the Rex
begonias are showy.

Flowers and fragrances of spring delight your senses in the Shoenberg Temperate
House.
