Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom

AT A GLANCE

March 5 - March 11, 2004

• Camellias are in full bloom in the Linnean House. The fancy leaves of the Rex begonias are showy.

• Flowers and fragrances of spring delight your senses in the Shoenberg Temperate House.

• Vernal (Hamamelis vernalis), Chinese (H. mollis) and Hybrid witchhazels (Hamamelis x intermedia) are in full bloom in the Jenkins Daylily, English Woodland and Japanese Gardens. Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Arnold Promise’ in the English Woodland Garden is especially showy.

• Snowdrops (Galanthus spp.) are flowering in many locations on the grounds. Early crocus (Crocus tommasinianus) are blooming in the Jenkins Daylily Garden, Samules Bulb Garden, and the lawn area north of the Lehmann Building.

• The Flowering apricot in the Chinese Garden is in full bloom.
