Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom
AT A GLANCE
July 11 - July 17, 2003
-
Daylilies are in peak bloom in the Jenkins Daylily Garden.
-
Sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) in the Japanese Garden are past peak
bloom but still very showy.
-
Late bottlebrush buckeyes (Aesculus parviflora var. serotina) are in
full bloom in the Victorian Garden.
-
Roses throughout the Garden are showy.
-
Enjoy the rich aroma of gardenias (Gardenia augusta ‘Mystery’) in the
Shoenberg Temperate House. Look for the beautiful blossoms of the caper vine
(Capparis spinosa); the capers you eat are the flower buds of this
plant.
-
Impatiens (Impatiens walleriana ‘Dazzler Series’) brighten the beds
beneath the camellia trees in the Linnean House.
