Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom

June 21 - June 27, 2002

Daylilies in the Jenkins Daylily Garden and throughout the grounds are at peak
bloom.

The large grove of fragrant Bottlebrush buckeyes (Aesculus parviflora) on
either side of the tram path just south of the Climatron® are past peak
bloom, but still very showy.

Lilies are very showy in the intensive bulb gardens and throughout the grounds.

Roses in the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak of seasonal bloom.

Oakleaf hydrangeas (Hydrangea quercifolia) are in full bloom throughout
the grounds. Bigleaf hydrangeas (Hydrangea macrophylla) are flowering
in many locations on the grounds.

Japanese water iris in Seiwa-En are past peak but some are still showy. Lotus
are beginning to bloom in the Lotus pool.

The scent of gardenias perfumes the air in the Shoenberg Temperate House.
Brilliant red coleus (Solenostemon scutellaroides 'Kingswood Torch')
and yellow daisies (Argyranthemum frutescens 'Maggie') brighten the
tiled Moorish Garden.

The sweet aroma of jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) wafts through
the Linnean House. Double impatiens (Impatiens walleriana 'Fiesta
Lavender Orchid') are featured in the hanging baskets.
