Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom
AT A GLANCE
July 28, 2000 - August 03, 2000
-
Roses in both the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak of
seasonal bloom.
-
Some Daylilies in the Jenkins Daylily Garden are still nice.
-
Tropical waterlilies are blooming in the pools in the Milles Sculpture
Garden.
-
The Shoenberg Temperate House features the showy flowers of the Caper
vine (Capparis spinosa). The caper you eat is the bud of this
flower. Figs are ripening high above the walled Moorish garden.
-
The large, colorful foliage of Rex begonias and bright flowers of
Impatiens (Impatiens 'Tempo Series') fill the beds below the
winter-blooming camellia trees in the Linnean House. New guinea
impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri 'Paradise Lavender Blue') and
Kangaroo Ferns (Microsorium diversifolium) are featured in
hanging baskets.
