AT A GLANCE

Spring bulb displays including late tulips and daffodils are past peak
but still very showy, especially where they are complimented by
underplantings of color-coordinated pansies.

White and blue Wood hyacinths (Hyacinthoides hispanica) carpet the
ground in the Mausoleum Garden.
-
Easter lilies (Lilium longiflorum), hydrangeas (Hydrangea
macrophylla) and deep blue daisies (Cineraria 'Miss Yokohama')
decorate the tiled Moorish Garden in the Shoenberg Temperate House. The
bog is particularly showy right now, featuring the unusual and beautiful
blossoms of the carnivorous pitcher plants (Sarracenia sp.). Look
upstairs for the showy red blossoms of the Australian bottlebrush trees
(Callistemon sp.).
-
The rich fragrance of Jasmine (Jasminum polyanthemum) accompanies
the last lingering blossoms of the camellia trees in the Linnean House.
The bright yellow flower spikes of the Canary Island broom (Genista
canariensis) surround the central water feature.
-

bearded iris are beginning to bloom.
