AT A GLANCE
APRIL 14, 2000 - APRIL 20, 2000
-
Flowering dogwoods and Azaleas are in full bloom throughout the Garden.
-
Daffodils and tulips are at peak bloom throughout the grounds. The
displays in the bulb borders are especially showy where they are
complimented by underplantings of color-coordinated pansies.
-
White and blue Wood hyacinths (Hyacinthoides hispanica) carpet the
ground in the Mausoleum Garden.
-
The rich fragrance of Jasmine (Jasminum polyanthemum) accompanies
the lingering blossoms of the camellia trees in the Linnean House. The
bright yellow flower spikes of the Canary Island broom (Genista
canariensis) surround the central water feature.
-
Sweetly fragrant white roses (Rosa banksiae 'Alba Plena') cascade
over the walls of the tiled Moorish garden in the Shoenberg Temperate
House. Daffodils (Narcissus 'Honeybird'), Fairy primroses
(Primula malacoides) and the rich blue daisies of Cineraria
'Miss Yokohama' adorn the fountain.
-
Dwarf bearded iris are now blooming in the Goodman Iris Garden.
