Missouri Botanical Garden: Plants in Bloom
AT A GLANCE
MARCH 24, 2000 - MARCH 30, 2000
-
Flowering cherries in the Japanese Garden are now at peak bloom.
-
Redbuds are blooming in many locations. Crabapples are just beginning to
bloom throughout the grounds.
-
Daffodils are in full bloom throughout the Garden. Early tulips are now
beginning to bloom.
-
Magnolias are past peak bloom, but many trees are still showy. Azaleas
are now beginning to bloom in the Lopata Azalea and Rhododendron Garden.
-
The rich fragrance of Jasmine (Jasminum polyanthemum) accompanies
the lingering blossoms of the camellia trees in the Linnean House. The
bright yellow flower spikes of the Canary Island broom (Genista
canariensis) surround the central water feature.
-
Sweetly fragrant white roses (Rosa banksiae 'Alba Plena') cascade
over the walls of the tiled Moorish garden in the Shoenberg Temperate
House. Daffodils (Narcissus 'Honeybird), fairy primroses
(Primula malacoides) and the rich blue daisies of Cineraria
'Miss Yokohama' adorn the fountain.
