At the Kemper Center for Home Gardening, Sneezeweed, Prairie blazing star,
and Prairie dock in the Lucy and Stanley Lopata Prairie Garden are
showy. The Supertunias (Petunia axillaris) in the Flower Trial Garden
are showy. The intricate knot garden in the circular bed in the
Vegetable Garden is very showy. Look for the rare Chinese Heptacodium
shrub blooming against the wall north of the Vegetable Garden.

Tardiva hydrangeas throughout the grounds are at peak bloom.

The delightful scent of the Sweetautumn clematis on the Arbor in the
Swift Family Garden perfumes the air. The unusual aquatics in the
pools just south of the Linnean House are very showy.

Roses in both the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak
of seasonal bloom.

In the Shoenberg Temperate House, look for the beautiful purple berries of the
American beautyberry (Callicarpa americana). The purple flowers of
Millettia reticulata blanket the Pettus Vine Arbor.

In the Linnean House, look in the windows to see the bright red
Spider lilies (Lycoris radiata), and look for the small, fragrant
orange blossoms of the rara Orange fragrant olive (Osmanthus fragrans
forma aurantiacus).

Hardy begonias growing near the bog in the English Woodland Garden
are very showy. Anemones, Toad lilies, and Turtlehead are also showy.

Tall verbena and African daisies on Spoehrer Plaza are showy.

Cannas are showy in the Heckman and Samuels Bulb Gardens.

The Crapemyrtles in Bakewell Court are in full bloom.

Cardinal flowers and the tall Decurrent falseaster growing along the
dry stream bed in The Knolls are very showy.

Tropical water lilies in the Milles Sculpture Garden pools are
showy.

The view of the new Kresko Victorian Garden and the Kaiser Maze from atop the
Piper Observatory is spectacular.

The Flower Borders along the path to the Kemper Center for Home Gardening
are showy.
