Kousa dogwoods are in full bloom throughout the grounds.
Old Garden Roses in the Lehmann Rose Garden and Climbing Roses in
the Gladney Rose Garden are at peak bloom. Many Hybrid Tea,
Floribunda, and Grandiflora roses have now begun to bloom.
The Iris are past peak bloom in the Goodman Iris Garden, but many
are still nice.
Large-flowered Rhododendrons are past peak bloom in the Lopata
Azalea/Rhododendron Garden, but some are still showy.
Peonies are past peak bloom in the Japanese Garden, but many are
still showy.
In the English Woodland Garden, Forget-Me-Nots by the pool and
Primroses and Iris by the bog are showy. Foxgloves, Rhododendrons and
Columbines are also noteworthy. The new foliage of the Forest Pansy
Redbud at the east entrance is also very showy.
The delightful scent of Star jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides)
wafts throughout the Linnean House.
Hydrangeas are in full bloom in the Temperate House. Especially
showy is Hydrangea macrophylla 'Mariesii'.
Pansies that overwintered in many locations on the grounds are in
full bloom. The display of winter hardy varieties is perhaps the
showiest element of a very colorful Center for Home Gardening.
The new Victorian Garden near the Maze is very showy.
A few early Daylilies are flowering in the Jenkins Daylily Garden.
