The Academy of Science of St. Louis
Founded in 1856, this is the oldest science academy west of the Mississippi River. Today it is the home of scientific literacy and educational initiatives including the Junior Academy of Science and the Greater St. Louis Science Fair.

American Bamboo Society
The ABS was formed in 1979 and today we have over 1100 members living throughout the US and in 39 other countries. The ABS issues the bimonthly Bamboo and the annual journal "Bamboo Science and Culture" to disseminate information about the use, care, propagation and beauty of bamboo.

American Fern Society
AFS was established in 1893 with the objective of fostering interest in ferns and fern allies. To this end it encourages correspondence and the exchange of information and specimens between members via its newsletter, the Fiddlehead Forum.

International Organization for Plant Information

The publisher of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (the second-most cited scientific serial in the world), NSA advises the federal government on scientific and technical matters.

Phycological Society of America
The PSA is a scientific organization that promotes phycology, the study of algae, and fosters phycological research and education. Publishers of the highly respected Journal of Phycology.

Society for Conservation Biology
