The species is endemic to the north part of Madagascar and mostly encompassed in disturbed habitats. This species is assessed as Vulnerable because the EOO < 20,000 km2, and the AOO < 2,000 km2, and it is known from no more than 10 locations, and there is projected continuing decline of the population, although it is known from Ankarana protected area.
