SPECIMEN INFO:   Tree to 7 m tall with swollen trunk, the outer bark 
                   chlorophyllous, then peeling rusty red. Tree mostly
                   leafless. Inflorescences terminal upright. Flowers
                   forming brush. Calyx olive green. Vestigial petal
                   white fading (drying) yellow. Filaments, anthers
