Schizolaena tampoketsana (Sarcolaenaceae)

Unfortunately, some of these “irreplaceable” sites will be too small to allow for long-term persistence, i.e., will not support viable populations over time.  The only option to prevent extinction in such cases will be to launch ex situ conservation measures.  Schizolaena tampoketsana (Sarcolaenaceae) is probably just such an example of the “living dead.”
